Mission Statement

Macedonia Baptist Church, a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ, is motivated by God’s love and empowered by the Holy Spirit to:

• Worship, honor, and praise God,
• Proclaim the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ in our community and around the world,
• Teach the Christian life as revealed in the Bible, nurture growth toward a Christ-like life of selfless service and faithful stewardship,
• Minister in a supportive environment, striving to meet the spiritual, physical, and social needs of the people in our community and around the world,
• Provide all persons with the opportunity to experience a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

Vision

Our church exists to bring glory to God. In order to achieve this, our church is committed to:

• Helping people to grow to maturity in their relationship with God, through his Son, Jesus Christ, based on the teaching of God’s word, the Bible.
• Providing opportunities and equipping people to participate in ministry to one another, using the gifts given by God in order to build a strong, united church.
• Providing training and opportunities to fulfill the mission of the church towards the world, which is to show God’s love, proclaim the gospel and make disciples, helping them to become members of God’s church.

It is the dream of a place where the hurting, the hopeless, the
discouraged, the depressed, the frustrated, and confused can find love,
acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.

It is the dream of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the of residents in Newark, New Jersey and beyond.

It is the dream of our members to grow together in spiritual maturity through Bible studies, seminars, retreats, service, mission, and other shared experiences – loving, laughing, and learning together, understanding God’s wonderful plan and living life to it greatest potential.

It is also our vision with the help of God and the support of our membership to move forward in whatever area and direction that God leads us.
